John and Sandy Dean welcome you to the Broken Rail Farm located in beautiful Mississippi. Our goal is to keep the color and Appaloosa traits in the Appaloosa horse. Although our farm is small, John has been involved with horses most of his life. He was involved in raising, breaking and training horses and mules during most of his childhood and teen years before joining the U.S. Air Force.
John bought me my first horse in 1981, Sandy's High Lady. Although I have been around horses off and on a lot of my life, I never owned one until then. We quickly discovered that I have a knack with horses. John says it is because I'm so small (5'4") that they don't feel threatened by me. I think its because I understand them and they know that I care.
